Why are we going to Texas?
In August 2017, Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas as a Category 4 storm causing extensive damage to the state. Torrential flood rains continued for days as the storm moved inland destroying homes in the city of La Grange. By serving with this long term recovery project, rebuild volunteers will help Samaritan’s Purse provide homes for the homeowners who suffered devastating loss at the hands of this storm.
What will we be doing in Texas?
We will be helping construct new homes to replace those that were destroyed by the hurricane. There are many opportunities for all with any type of construction skill set. The long term gospel impact on the lives of these families goes beyond just homes we are building. Samaritans Purse is 100% gospel focused and will continue to use this opportunity to bless others in the Name of the Lord. We will be staying at a local camp ground and share in devotions each night with the Samaritans Purse staff.
We will be taking a group of 11 to Texas on September 27 to October 2, 2020.
