  • Flexibility is vital to the success of the team. Humility to be stretched outside of one’s comfort zone is a necessary characteristic for serving on a cross-cultural team.
  • Each application must be completed in full and requires a $100 deposit (refundable if not selected for trip).

Participant Selection
  • Team Leader and/or other church leaders may ask for a meeting to hear more about your heart to serve in this capacity. This will be scheduled after all applications are collected and reviewed.
  • The Trip Leader and Spring Creek will make the final selections for each team. The Trip Leader will notify each applicant whether they have or have not been selected for the trip.
  • Upon selection to the team, the $100 fee is applied to the participant’s required trip support total (non-refundable). Final selections will be announced prior to the initial team meeting.
  • If an applicant is not selected for the trip, the application fee will be refunded.

Team Meetings
  • Participants are required to attend Team Training meetings as set forth by the Trip Leader. Expect at least one meeting per month until departure. Meetings are essential to build relationships, unify as a team, understand our goals and purposes and prepare for our task.
  • Meetings will be Sundays from 12:30 – 2:00pm
  • Failure to attend required meetings may result in removal from team and not going on the trip. Money raised will not be refunded and be used for short-term ministry needs.
  • After the trip returns expect 1-2 follow up meetings.

Insurance & Liability
  • Participants are required to sign a waiver of liability to Spring Creek Church and, if needed, to the ministry serving as host of the team.
  • We request each team member show proof of medical insurance. Proof of health insurance must be given to the Trip Leader prior to the trip.
  • Additional documents may be required.
Financial Matters
  • All participants need to have “skin in the game” and are required to contribute from their personal finances 10% of the total cost of the trip. This is not tax deductible.  (ex: 10% -- trip cost = $1,000 ; personal investment $100)
  • Participants cover their own personal expenses. (ex: souvenirs)
  • Participants are required to develop a support team (financial and prayer) during the training process. Instructions, materials and guidance are provided to each team member to assist in developing this support team. Each team member is required to send out a minimum of 25 support letters.
  • Full funding is due 1 week prior to departure of the trip. If all costs have not been covered through support raising efforts, individuals short of their support goal are responsible for the remaining cost of their trip.
  • All gifts are to be made payable to Spring Creek Church AND are tax deductible.
  • All gifts in excess of trip costs are kept and maintained by Spring Creek Church. Excess funds will be used specifically for future short-term ministry.
  • If a participant drops off the team, funds remain with Spring Creek Church for future short-term ministry.

5. Begin Application Process
With approval from your local/sending church begin the initial written application process to the sending organization.

Sending Guidelines
God’s call on your life is very important. We are excited for you and want to explore a partnership relationship. We are conservative in the sending process to ensure it is a good fit for both parties. Please be aware that this process will take time, and tough questions will be asked. We believe the job of the local church is to recognize and encourage gifts and talents as we see them used and then help send the missionary. Spring Creek is committed to sending competent, well trained, Godly men and women to the mission field for service. We will utilize references, observation and interviews in this process. Our goal is stewardship. We trust the Holy Spirit’s leading.

As you pursue a partnership with Spring Creek please read through the process listed below that we use to select Great Commission workers. These are general guidelines, but will serve to create a fair and thorough evaluation. Please begin this process well in advance of your target start date.
